It gave me the essential information in a very readable and well organized format. My assistant went and bought more than two dozen books - edited volumes, easy readers, detailed analyses, text books, etc. Recently, I needed to learn a great deal about global environmental issues and global environmental politics in a short period of time. It was did not lecture but informed. I surveyed them all and read most cover to cover. This is by far the best. I saw many far longer or more focused volumes but this one covered all the bases and was a pleasure to read. It is a little strange to recommend this type of book around the office but when people ask me, this is the one I point to.
This is a truely impressive discussion of global environmental issues. I think it would be valuable for experts and new readers alike. This is a very up to date 2006 edition.
The 2006 edition of this book is excellent. It is entirely new, clear, concise and informative. It has a new author and is so much better that the previous editions it should have a new title.
